Michelle is a Veterinary Assistant with Mountain View Humane. In this role, she helps to maintain high quality, low-cost services by assisting with pre and post-op care as well as helping to keep the facility clean. Michelle started as a volunteer in 2012 and was hired as an employee in 2013. She has worked in animal care on and off for about 17 years and worked in full-service veterinary clinics and for the Salem Animal Shelter. Michelle earned her Certificate of Completion for Phlebotomy from Fast Track Healthcare Education. She shares her home with Jack, a 14-year-old Walker Coonhound who was adopted from Salem Animal Shelter when he was three years old, Gwendolyn, a 6 year old Pomeranian/Terrier mix who was adopted from Pulaski Animal Shelter when she was only four months old, Brimstone and Bishop, 6 year old DSH siblings who were hand raised from 1-1/2 weeks old, and Spooky, a 4 year old DSH cat who, although born feral, became a happy and affectionate indoor kitty after several months of patient work. Michelle chose to work at Mountain View Humane to be active in helping to reduce the number of unwanted homeless pets.
